March 3rd was an exciting evening for the Durkin Foundation as well as for, Nick Zelano and his family. The evening was to support Nick’s Boston Marathon fundraising goal of $7,500.00. This event raised over $2,500.00! The evening was not possible without the countless amounts of support from the Zelano family, employees of the Danvers Animal Hospital and Nick’s incredible family and friends who came to support that night. The foundation would like to make two special shout outs: to Nicks parents, Carlo and Debra Zelano as well as, Angi Carson from the Danvers Animal Hospital. They worked tirelessly over the past few months and it was evident with the success of the event. The event took place at the Middleton VFW in Middleton, Massachusetts. Everything from the hall to the food, raffle items and the DJ were donated. A special moment of night was when the Durkin Foundation’s Executive Director, Matt Durkin, presented Nick with his invitational entry pamphlet into this years 2018 Boston Marathon. This was an incredibly moving moment for not only Nick and his family but for the foundation as well. The foundation is honored to have Nick run for us on April 16th, he will represent us with a tenacious attitude, love and hard work; just like the inspiring families he is running for!
